Living Waters

"Where can I go to share my pain and struggle? Will anyone listen to me? How can I overcome my struggle? I'm alone, and afraid to tell anyone what’s really happening in my heart."

Such thoughts and questions plague many Christians. The Living Waters discipleship and prayer ministry addresses the roots of these emotional and sexual issues (such as abuse, self-hatred, marital problems, addictions, same-sex attraction, pornography and co-dependency) which trap believers in unhealthy living.

Through weekly times of worship, teaching and small group prayer, the program’s leaders walk with participants in their struggle so they can live in freedom and truth.

The leaders also pray for God’s healing to restore the broken areas of life so that people can love according to His intentions. (A closed-group format and confidentiality policy ensure trust and safety in the small groups.)

Who’s it for?
Anyone can enrol in the 25-week Living Waters program, particularly those who are willing to embrace the truth of their current situation, be open with others about their life, and deepen their relationship with Jesus. Living Waters is the core offering of the ministry, and is recommended for all people.

What’s involved?
Participants apply and are interviewed prior to their enrolment in the program. On the first evening of the program, participants receive a manual, which includes these topics:

• Receiving the Father’s love	• Forgiving others
• Naming and confessing our sins	• Confronting addiction and temptation
• Discovering the false self	• Living as true men and women
• Learning the roots of brokenness	• Embracing the church as a healing place
• Healing from abuse

Where is Living Waters offered?
In Canada, the program is currently offered in the following cities: Vancouver, Edmonton, Winnipeg, Cambridge, Toronto, Peterborough, Montreal, Halifax and Charlottetown. Churches in other cities are planning to offer Living Waters in the future.
